ACNL 2014 Challenge — March 2014!

Basically, I’m really terrible at remembering to keep up-to-date with games like AC. I go through a period of about 3 months where I play the game solidly, spending copious amounts of time each day on the game. But then, as if by magic, I’ve forgotten all about my pretty much perfect town and have moved on to something new…

So, as my one New Year’s Resolution, I’ve decided to attempt to play the game every single day for a whole year, starting on 1st January 2014, and ending 31st December 2014. I was given an EU 3DS XL as a Christmas gift and got myself a copy of ACNL to begin my journey.

This isn’t my first foray into the world of ACNL, I’d previously played the Japanese version and you can read about my exploits in Inuno Town, here.

VIVA FESTIVALE!

HNI_0066

Festivale in Timber 2014.

This event was such a blast! I actually enjoy collecting and completing sets/series of items in pretty much any game I play, so the challenge of obtaining every single piece of the Pavé series was pretty darn cool. I quite like the design but I wish you had the option to re-make them as I’d quite like a pink set!

I also adored how pretty all the multi coloured confetti was! I’ll admit that it gave me a bit of a headache after a few hours of searching for feathers, though! I managed to find 3 rainbow feathers in total but in general I ended up adopting a quite simple yet effective strategy. My strategy was basically; once you have 2-3 of a particular colour, put it into your locker and trade/play games for the final colour with feathers you have spare.. once you have 1 of the colour needed, run back to your locker and whip the others out and go straight to Pavé!

This way, if you lose a challenge you won’t lost one of the colours you need! (and the villagers almost always choose the colour you need if you lose!) I’m pretty sure most players will have adopted a similar strategy but that’s what I did.

It paid off and I managed to get the full set (and quite a few extras, contact me for a trade if needed!) and it only took 2-3 hours of grinding. What can I say? I enjoy a challenge!

Long time no see!

Hello!

I’ve been so neglectful with my blog and I’m really sorry I haven’t been updating all that much. Life became very busy and I had to let the internet take a back seat for a couple of months. But now I’m hoping to write more often and share some of my recent game loves!

I’m also really loving Miiverse! It’s such a fun way to interact and share tips with your favourite games. I can also finally get screenshots of my current favourite, Disney Magic Castle My Happy Life!

Hello from Castle Town!

I also received a European 3DS XL from a relative for Christmas so I can now play English games! I’m actually getting a copy of ACNL to play. I’m going to start on January 1st and try to play the entire year through. It’s a bit of a challenge but I’m looking forward to it.

So.. that’s all for now! I’ll update my games and friend codes section to include the new 3DS and my Miiverse details. Feel free to comment and add!

More coming soon!

Dear Diary, Tobidase Doubutsu No Mori

Awesome review of an Awesome Guide by an Awesome Blogger.. !

Non-Confidential Diaries of a Girl Gamer

Last night, a very special package arrived in the mail, and to my surprise, even fit in the mailbox. Toby was destined to keep my impatience at minimum by constantly reminding me this special package would not arrive probably until next month. Though his excitement was hidden in the wait of the delivery, mine was not, and it was definitely present in the arrival of a text from my mother who showed me the lime green package return address that had in big, bold letters: JAPAN.

It had arrived.

Review: Japanese ACNL guide – とびだせ どうぶつの森 デザインのある暮らし”Dezain no aru kurashi”

This is a book I recently picked up on an order from the shopping service provided by tenso.com (along with a few magazines and toys which I’ll talk about another time) and it’s actually much more amazing than I’d originally thought!

I knew that the book would be about designing your village and remaking items to suit your house but the amount of detail is really quite awesome.

EDIT AS OF 30/01/2014 I appreciate that many people are unable to get a copy of this book, and I’m sorry to hear this. However, I had to pay quite a large amount to order my own copy and, whilst at first I didn’t mind taking photos for friendly people now and then, it’s getting quite out of hand now so I’m afraid that I won’t be responding to any more requests for specific pages. Sorry. I paid a lot for this book and it’s unfair to me to give the whole book for free. I hope you can appreciate this. Thank you for visiting. 🙂
